[openfabrics-ewg] Microsoft support for OpenFabrics

Hi everyone,

Long time, no talk. I'm now responsible for marketing Microsoft's Windows Server line in this space (HPC, scale-out, etc.).

I am relatively new in this position, but I can begin to represent Microsoft's position here. I just read this thread, and want to clarify a few things:

1) OpenFabrics is important to Microsoft, and the engineering team is spending significant cycles on this front driving to WHQL certification. Microsoft values a multi-vendor collaborative approach here.

2) Microsoft will be at the Dev Summit. I will be there, as will our key product management team.

3) We were asked if we wanted to speak this week, and when I saw the proposed agenda, it looked like it was focused on Linux developers. Since the people we are sending are not developers, I recommended we be there to participate, but not necessarily present at this level.

4) If the group would like me to present a general introduction about Microsoft's support for OpenFabrics, I can do so.

We want to support the community here, and we're working closely with the InfiniBand vendors to make RDMA on Windows a reality.

Please let me know what questions I can answer.

Regards,

--Shawn
