Hi Moiz,

When we install the OFED package on sles 9 sp 3, we need sysfsutils.so as elf 32 and elf 64 .

Sysfsutils is included in the udev / udev-64bit rpms .

When I needed the udev-64bit for ppc64 you help and send it to me.

We whant to know how a normal user that trys to use OFED 1.1 on sles9 sp3 on any platform gets or build the udev-64 and udev 32 bits rpms .

We plan to add your explanation to the releasen note building instructions.

In the prev message I check with Jack to understand if he already got answer to thes questions.

Best regards,

Moshe

Hi Jack,

I'm trying RC7 on sles9 sp3 now.

And off course started to look for the udev / sysfsutils 32 bit.

Do you know more on this issue ?

Did you get any more info from Moist ?

Did you add something to the OFED docs about this issue that I have to
read ?

Moshe,

Could you please be more specific in your instructions for obtaining the
udev libraries below?

Where are the rpm's you mention -- are they on the installation disk?
Could you please give the full pathname of the RPM's?

I only see the following udev rpm's on the SLES9 SP3 disk:

	LES9.0SP3/x86_64/cdrom/suse/src/udev-021-36.56.src.rpm
	LES9.0SP3/x86_64/cdrom/suse/x86_64/udev-021-36.56.x86_64.rpm

LES9.0SP3/x86_64/cdrom/x86_64/update/SUSE-CORE/9/rpm/x86_64/udev-021-36.
56.x86_64.rpm

and the following on the SLES9 installation disks

SLES9.0RC5-x86_64/SUSE-CORE-Version-9/CD1/suse/x86_64/udev-021-36.32.x86
_64.rpm

1. Where is the udev-64bit rpm that you mention?
2. There is no udev...rpm, only udev...src.rpm.
Can the source RPM be built and installed for both 64-bit and 32
bit versions?

Please reply ASAP. (I would like to put something regarding this issue
into the OFED release notes).

Jack

I had the other problem (trying to find the 64-bit rpm)

In sles9 sysfsutils is part of the udev rpm.

Therefore I think that you may try udev...rpm for sysfsutils 32-bit
version
and udev-64bit...rpm for sysfsutils 64-bit version

after install the 32 bit libraries are located on /usr/lib
and the 64 bit libraries are located under /usr/lib64

Is there any chance/trick to get 32-Bit Libraries build and usable
on SLES9 x86_64?

    When I installed OFED-1.1-rc4 I get:

WARNING: sysfsutils 32-bit version is required to build 32-bit
libibverbs package.

WARNING: Skiping build of 32-bit libraries.

I googled around and didn't find any sysfsutils 32-bit for SLES9.

I now that tit is working under SLES10 b ut our customer base is on
SLES9 and very conservative when it comes down to using the latest and
greates Os/distribution.
