I agree -- SSL is a Good Thing.  This is a minor point, but:

A) if we have to login to whatever services we're using, the passwords
should be secure
B) if we're going to have a whole server dedicated to openib, ssl for a few
dozen developers isn't that onerous

Just my $0.02.  :-)
