it would be nice to have a much more functional graphical way to view and
monitor the IB fabric. I think it would still be very useful to have some
sort of tool that utilizes OpenSM performance manager plugin interface and
graphviz (similar to ibdiagui but actually functional). The problem we
have with ibdiagui is it waits on the output of ibdiagnet to populate the graph
and the GUI is fairly buggy. On our fabric it could take 5 minutes for
ibdiagnet to finish so you have an unresponsive GUI application for 5 minutes
when you startup or refresh.<br>
<br>
Can you find out if any development work is being done on a tool similar to
this? Ira Weiny has an OpenSM perf manager plugin that integrates with
Skummee (<a href="https://computing.llnl.gov/linux/skummeeplugin.html">https://computing.llnl.gov/linux/skummeeplugin.html</a>).
Maybe it would be easy enough to integrate that with Zenoss for the time
being. If not I think it would be wise for the LD JCTD to invest in some
sort of development on an applicaiton to accomplish this. Having a GUI
with an overall view with some self diagnostics will be a necessity in an
operational environment.<br>
