0x0600 for the status means "insufficient components" in the SA query
(IB spec vol 1 table 188).

I believe that the shipping version of the Topspin SM does not support
all valid PathRecord component masks.  So what's probably happening is
that the query is really failing and the sa_query module is correctly
returning an error.
