That's a pretty big size (268,938,896). Any idea what was going on ?

How far do you get with opensm ? Is there anything in the log ?

Out of curiousity, how big is your subnet ?

Is this reproducible ?

The default build doesn't use -fPIC but I wouldn't think that should
have anything to do with it.
