Are the opteron nodes single CPU or SMP?
If SMP, you will need to look at binding processes to specific
CPUs for optimal performance.
Read "man taskset" (apt-get install schedutils)

Which tests are you running?
(Michael Tsirkin already asked but I did't see the answer)
