install OFED (from the tarballs) on a CentOS VM but several issues are
arising. When I try OFED-4.17, OFED-4.17-rc2 & OFED-4.17-rc2, the
installation stops almost immediately because of the error
messages:</div><div dir="auto">*libudev-devel rpm is required to build
rdma-core</div><div dir="auto">*libudev-devel rpm is required to build
infiniband-diags</div><div dir="auto">even though I installed libudev-devel
just before beginning the installation. I'm able to work around this
problem with OFED-4.17-1-rc2; the installation goes on for several minutes
until the following error:</div><div dir="auto">*** ERROR: No build ID note
found in
/var/tmp/OFED_topdir/BUILDROOT/rdma-core-17.5-1.x86_64/usr/lib64/libibumad.so.3.0.17.5</div><div
dir="auto">error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.H61XGG
(%install)</div><div dir="auto">I'm attaching the whole log. I also tried
installing rdma-core (from the GitHub site) directly in case that would
give me a clue of the root problem but it finished and installed the
