This is far too big a decision to be made in email.  We need to have
another meeting (before the currently scheduled April meeting) to get
everyone's concerns on the table.

Can this be set up?

I believe that 2008 should be included in the release.

In the past weeks xalex from Mellanox has made a lot of work on fixing 
the compiler problems on windows server 2008. Currently the code can be
compiled
with the new compiler and the binaries are under test. Once the tests
will pass
we will publish the patches to the forum (hopefully next week).
KMDF is currently optional and most existing drivers in the market are
not KMDF drivers.
New drivers of course should be written using KMDF (assuming this is
possibale).

Using dpinst instead of devmon shouldn't also be a problem.
