[openfabrics-ewg] build error with openfabrics-1.0-rc3

I attempted to do a custom build of openfabrics-1.0-rc3 and got an error
during the opensm build.   I've attached the log file from the build.  I
told the install script to use /tmp as the scratch space instead of the
default /var/tmp.  The OpenSM build seems to still be looking
in /var/tmp for something.
