[openfabrics-ewg] OFED 1.1 new features and schedule

Hi All,

 

Release is planned to mid-August, but schedule will depend on the amount
of new features.

Note that the main reason for this release is SDP in beta quality.

Comments are welcome.

First draft of new features in OFED 1.1:  

 

General:

*	SLES9 SP3 support
*	kernel 2.6.17 
*	lib32 on 64 bits systems 
*	kernel code from git of 2.6.18 
*	add madeye utility 
*	Bug fixes 

 

OSM:

*	Partition Manager (Pkey) 
*	Pre-computed routing load from file 

 

SDP:

*	Beta quality 
*	Improved latency 
*	Improved bandwidth of small messages (by implementing the Naggle
algorithm) 
*	Support the backlog parameter in the listen call 
*	Interoperability with other SDP implementations 
*	support sending/receiving out of band data 

 

OSU MPI:

*	MVAPICH 0.98 

 

Open MPI:

*	Newer version from Open MPI 
*	Jeff need to update regarding specific features 

 

MPI tests:

*	Replace to the new test versions we got from LNAL, Intel and
OSU. 

 

SRP:

*	Open - Cisco & Mellanox 

 

uDAPL:

*	Scalability features (already implemented on the trunk) needed
for Intel MPI 

 

iSER:

*	Need info from Voltaire 

 

RDS:

*	Open - Oracle & SilverStorm
