Thanks, Jeff.
Bill - Below are my comments:
- What is OFSS 2.0? Was there an OFSS 1.0?
- There is no session with Tziporet as the moderator
- The comment below is worrying. How / why was this decided? How has
this been communicated? This does not seem to be in the spirit of an
open-community.
- " - There are many topics to be covered that are mandated by the OFA
board, such as the Linux and Windows OFA stacks, iWARP integration
plans, OFED, etc."
- I don't think anyone answered Hal's question of how we are going to
keep things going. It seems to me we have not been able to prioritize
the needs of the customers and development community, but instead have a
few minutes to talk about everything that is being worked on. My concern
is that there will be a lot of talk, but no clear decisions or action
identified after 1.5 days. Why can't we spend more time on the immediate
issues for the people that will be attending? For example, Roland will
not be there, so major development areas will not be addressed.

Subject: Agenda for SC OFA meeting
To end the crazy "what's going on with the agenda?" thread from
yesterday, Bill and I chatted on the phone last night.
Short version:
--------------
1. The agenda on the OFA web site is (or will be shortly) marked as a
draft (http://openib.org/conference/nov2006sc/).
2. Because we're all running out of time, Bill will coordinate the
agenda for this meeting and we'll stop using the wiki. I've deleted the
current wiki content to avoid confusion (see below / attached).
3. Bill has agreed to hilight changes between successive versions of the
agenda.
4. Attached is the latest version of the agenda, which encompasses all
the changes from the EWG list, the wiki, and some external conversations
that Bill had with others. *** EVERYONE PLEASE REVIEW AND COMMENT ***
5. A conference call Monday, Nov 6, at 10:30am US Pacific time is
proposed to make a final final final version of the agenda (to avoid
conflict from the OFA board meeting 9-10:30am). *** PLEASE COMMENT ON
YOUR AVAILABILITY AT THAT TIME *** This call will be instead of the
normal OFED bi-weekly teleconference.
More details:
-------------
Confusion about using the wiki for collaborating on the agenda stemmed
from misunderstandings that aren't worth re-hashing. We only have ~1
week before SC and we're all busy, so Bill is going to take over
coordinating the agenda from here on out. We may/should do something
better for future meetings, such as collaborative wikis.
Note that the agenda reflects many compromises:
- We only have 1.5 days for the meeting
- We only have 1 conference room at a time (no others are available)
- There are many topics to be covered that are mandated by the OFA
board, such as the Linux and Windows OFA stacks, iWARP integration
plans, OFED, etc.
