[ewg] Multiple IP subnets in a single partition

The IPoIB release notes, have since 1.4 , carried a known issue that you
should not configure multiple IP subnets within a single partition.

Is this problem still current?  

Is this just following IP best practice or does it cause real problems,
e.g. with ARP requests

I have a client who has been recommended to use it by one vendor for
their product, and told by another not to.

Trying to find out whether it is still a real issue.
