[ewg] Web site update

Regarding policies about signing up to get access to content that cost the
organization to create, you need to address this with the board.
Regarding content from Sonoma 2010, all the presentations are up there as
videos under the Videos section. They have been available for quite a while.
However, due to usability concerns, I'm reorganizing them now into the days
they were presented, so they will be available sporadically for the next few
hours. I will also be adding a file that zips all the movies together. I am
slowly getting the content up there as PPTs and PDFs. I apologize they
aren't there, but the videos are good, from the few I've sampled, and they
provide the audio and video.
I would very much like to know what part of the design you find unusable.
This type of feedback is very valuable, because it might just take some
simple reorganization to make it more usable. I am always available and
interested in such suggestions and can be reached at
webmanager at openfabrics.org. However, the design goals for the site when we
moved to the new content management system was to make it easier to manage
and add content by other than web programmers, while controlling access to
some content that is for certain working groups, etc. This reduces the
overall cost of operating the site.
If you can't find archived content you want, you can always download it
directly at www.openfabrics.org/archives. But I'm sure that it would be
appreciated if this address was kept within the membership.

policies, you might want to also bring Scot Schultz and Jim Ryan into the
conversation.
So few days have passed.. and it seems that all documents from past Sonoma
OFA conferences are very much lost e.g here
https://openfabrics.org/ofa-documents/presentations/cat_view/57-ofa-document
s/23-presentations/40-workshops.html
you can see no sign for pre-2010 Sonoma. For OFA 2011 there are docs but I
can't think on less friendly manner to build the page and for 2010 the docs
are empty. What was wrong in the older web site that the OFA member
companies had to pay money and make this site such non usable? why the site
isn't open for everyone? and even after registration / login you can't find
there any docs? how can new comers to the rdma industry catch up without all
the good old materials / presentations from
2005/6/7/8/9/10 . I have bunch of people asking me questions in various
rdma/IB related issues and I can't point them anywhere.
