OFED 4.8-1 released, quickly moving onto OFED 4.8-2.



*         Opens

*   OFA board approval required for 4.8-2?

?  Arlin to check with Susan

*   IWG required loaners for testing; ongoing issue with old servers

?  Thanks to Rupert for providing loaners but need longer term solutions

?  More EWG/IWG cross group communication to help validate HW/SW dependencies.

?  Arlin will monitor IWG and join meetings as needed.

*   Next major kernel release target should be discussed

?  Deferred until Dec 18th EWG meeting, need more involved in this discussion

?  Need to start early; align RC's to intercept with 2018 spring interop

?  Need to reach out to Doug Ledford for recommendation

?  Note - kernel.org 4.14 is next long term stable release (2020)

?  Vlad is working SLES12.3 (compat_rdma, mlx4, mlx5), hope to finish 1-2 days.

*   Same distro support as 4.8-1, plus RH 7.4 and SLES 12.3

?  Backports include: kernel.org 4.8, RH7.0 to 7.4, SLES 12.0 to 12.3

?  Update rdma-core to latest (v16)

?  Cavium would like to add FW for iWARP support:

?  Need clarification of distro support (all backports or limited?)

?  Need expected timeframe for the driver enhancement (days, weeks, months?)

?  RH7.4 and SLES12.3 backports, rdma-core v16, and bug fixes



*         Timeframe (might be too aggressive but let's try so we can move to next major release)

?  RH7.4 and SLES12.3 backports done in 2 weeks - Dec 18th.

?  RC1 by Dec 20th, depending on backport progress and Cavium iWARP addition.
