You should run opensm -V and provide the /tmp/osm.log.
I guess the client is trying to create a new MGRP without setting all
required mask bits.

How far does it get ? Solaris is expecting something that OpenSM isn't
doing but not sure what it is.
Can you provide a OSM log (or preferably an IB trace) of this or provide
some other clue ?
