Where did you see this change?  www.kernel.org is still showing
2.6.11.12 as the latest, and the git tree on www.kernel.org doesn't
have a 2.6.12 change yet.  For example

http://www.kernel.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git

is showing Ingo Molnar's '[PATCH] timer exit cleanup' as the last
patch committed.
