[openib-general] Question on : ib_reg_phys_mr()

Hello list,
In Ib kernel verbs there is a function ib_reg_phys_mr().
I am not able to trace the call of this verb by any ulp or uverb.
Who calls this function?
Is this function mendatory to be supported by the HCA driver provider?

please guide me.
