OK, I see why my patch didn't work... see below for a (I hope) better
revised patch.

Upgrading the firmware may work, simply by exposing the hidden 3rd
BAR and avoiding the buggy codepath.  But this oops is not really a
firmware issue, it is simply a bug in the driver.
