No worries -- I'm being needlessly nit-picky; sorry. Plus, isn't it
the weekend for you? It's perfectly understandable if you didn't
want to RTFM on the weekend. :-)

Ok. I'll work up a proposed README -- per your point, you're right,
the last "good" r number (i.e., the last N value before the deletions
occurred) may not be (r_number_of_HEAD - 1). I'll include the last
"good" r number in the README and some examples of how to peruse the
history.
