Please read my whole email, especially this part:

  BTW what firmware version do you have on your HCAs?  You probably want
  to update to 2.0.156 (the mlx4 driver won't work with 2.0.158 for a
  day or two still) so that you don't have to monkey around with
  hard-coding your switch ports to DDR only.
