IPoIB is enabled in any Ubuntu/Debian kernel from the past year or
two.  I don't know what Lustre needs but I suspect it just needs a
modern kernel.  The version of openmpi in Debian lenny and Ubuntu
hardy is 1.2.4 and is already built with IB support.
