I know I said I was going to be super-strict about patch cleanliness,
but I did fix the following thing up by hand:

if you just use two '-'s then git doesn't strip it automatically and the
"--" gets put in the kernel changelog (where it doesn't belong).

Use "---" (*three* '-'s) to separate the changelog from the patch and
anything else you don't want in the git changelog.
