Correct, DAPL is still needed by IBM and also Intel today for Intel MPI. In the future, Intel is moving to OFI, but DAPL will still be maintained to support our older versions of Intel MPI
for at least a couple more years.

Sorry, we're mixing two different packages up here.  Arlin maintains dapl, and IBM's response that they use dapl in DB2 and would do so as long as the distros ship it is what I was referring to and I thought you were too when I sent my email about Arlin deprecating it.

The ibutils package issue is separate (but the same basic principle applies, only we need the Mellanox maintainer to deprecate it upstream).
