[Openframeworkwg] OFA OFWG meeting minutes and responses to AR re organizational recommendations

I, too, vote in favor of what Jim is proposing. Given the email discussion of the past couple of days, could others please weigh in?

As for the time spent, I can only say that minutes spent now are very likely to save hours if not months later on. The time to do this is now, before we need it, rather than try to figure something out on the fly. Especially since we have an existing model that has already been battle-hardened.

One other quick point - the bylaws require that whatever processes we adopt, whether we do it now as a group, or wait until we have co-chairs, has to be approved by the Board.

This seems acceptable to me.
While I do not have as much experience with these groups as many of you do, it seems we are spending an inordinate amount of time discussing these details.

After the Board selects the official chairs, they have the power to change any of the rules/procedures we have tentatively approved.
I cannot image we will go off the deep end between now and the selection of the official chairs.

My vote is to move forward with the guidelines proposed by Jim.

I don't think so. I believe I'm acting on the assignment I was given yesterday, I'm just trying to do it in as straightforward a fashion as possible.

This really isn't difficult to do, and debates like yesterday, while important, are not especially productive, IMO

Are we getting a little ahead of ourselves here.
Should these items wait to be decided until after the co-chairs are actually named ? I think it should be left
up to the co-chairs to propose the rules by which the working group will follow. Perhaps we can start the discussions now,
but I would think that it would ultimately be up to the co-chairs to suggest and approve formal adoption of the working groups
processes and procedures.

My 2 cents.

I'm sorry for the length of the attached, but I don't believe there's any way around it. I reviewed the OFA Bylaws and the IBTA Guidelines for suggestions as to how to identify the areas we touched on in our meeting yesterday, and additional areas suggested by the Guidelines themselves.

I'm taking a relatively aggressive position by suggesting practices and procedures from the Guidelines, primarily. This is instead of raising an issue and saying, in effect, "what do you think?" Instead, I'm offering a position and asking you to support it or argue with it

I'm hoping we can make significant progress by email to set up another productive meeting on Tuesday
