[ofiwg] DS/DA - proposed abstract for SC15 BoF

What do people think about the idea of proposing two separate BoFs? IMHO, they are each pointed at different audiences so it makes sense to me, but there might be a dilution effect if we do so.

Opinions?

It was make it that much harder for anyone involved in multiple activities to attend both.

Last year there were two OpenPOWER BoFs so clear SC has no standards w.r.t. duplication ;-)

That was my thought. But I’m not sure if that increases or decreases our chances…thoughts?

So you are going to submit two BoFs? I guess you can disregard my previous comment then.

Proposed abstract for BoF for DS/DA:

This BoF brings together the community of consumers of network services for data storage and data access to discuss the new APIs being developed as part of the OpenFabrics Interconnects project of the OpenFabrics Alliance. API development is being driven by the requirements of the targeted consumers of these APIs so this is an excellent opportunity for members of the data storage and data access community to discuss requirements, exchange points of view about priorities for kernel mode versus user mode APIs and to debate how best to provide network services meeting the needs of I/O into the future.
