If you make commits to fix Coverity issues, it would probably be useful to include the Coverity ID (CID) number of the issue you're fixing in the commit message.

I also have been putting the git commit hash(es) that fixes the issue in the Coverity issue in the "Ext(ternal) reference" field.

This is useful because sometimes you *think* you have fixed a CID, but then the next build shows that you *didn't* fix it.  The cross-referencing of CIDs and git commit hashes allows you to go back and scrape through history -- in both git and Coverity logs -- to reconstruct what happened.
