As part of growing interest in existing tools and adding more functionality in the future to better manage networks, Alex N presented the topic of "InfiniBand tools overview"

During the presentation Alex provided an overview of the state-of-the-art in area of VERBS tools echo system.
Covered topics were:
* infiniband-diags - tools of framework that provide a verity of micro utilities for querying the state of an InfiniBand fabric

* ibutils - there are two version of  tools: ibdiagnet-1 and -2. The #2 version is distributed for now within MOFED.

Question: Does Mellanox plan to open the ibutils2  ?
Answer: It will be reviewed and be advised in future meetings

* Libibprof - a new tool that was released as open source last week. The tool provides statistics on VERBs API calls. It can be very useful for verbs developers.

* ibdump

Question: Will it be released in open source ?
Answer: There are some issues of opening it

Overall there is a great interest in this topic, and OFV-WG will continue to explore and suggest further capabilities for management tools. Expect further discussions in the coming weeks.
