Good idea.

Gilad.

Hi Gilad,
I'd like to see a storage session in 5.
This could be a panel discussing block storage protocols and
file I/O with MS and the vendors on this panel.
Thx,
Asaf

Importance: High
Hi,
Fab (Silverstorm) and Gilad (Mellanox) have worked on an agenda
for the windows sessions. There are 5 sessions availabe and here is the
suggestion for the first 4:
1. Windows general update
Covering the last year development under OpenIB. What is the
status of each of the components, work in progress and future plans.
OpenIB release and schedule, WHQL certification etc. Open discussion on
item that are missing.
Presenters - Fab (Silverstorm) and Gilad (Mellanox)
2. SDP
Sockets Direct Protocol (SDP) enables sockets-based applications
to transparently utilize the InfiniBand RDMA and protocol offload
capabilities. CPU utilization is significantly reduced and superior
bandwidth can be achieved. The SDP implementation complies with the
InfiniBand standard and is interoperable with other operating systems.
The session introduces the protocol and presents OpenIB (open source
development community) implementation for SDP in the Windows XP and
Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
Presenters: Gilad (Mellanox) and TBD
3. MemFree technology
MemFree technology reduce the need of local attached memory.
This presentation will cover the new host memory structure (ICM), and
the MemFree concept. In order to support MemFree technology, major
changes have been done in the low level driver. The session will cover
the changes and also performance analysis for comparing to the Mem
driver.
Presenters: TBD
4. Microsoft presentation
Microsoft view on the windows development, Windows CCS, Longhorn
plans and WHQL
Presenter: Eric (Microsoft)
5. TBD
Please send your comments/feedback and also suggestions for the
5th session.
Thanks,
Gilad.
