Storport miniport drivers should work in Windows Server 2003, even on 32-bit platforms. 32-bit Windows XP does not support storport miniport drivers.

You definitely have to switch OS. SRP in not support in 32-bit.

It wasn't completely clear to me what was supported or not (I'm not too
familiar with Storport). For my information, can I assume then that SRP
isn't supported in 32-bit Windows? I have x64 hw but an x86 install of
Windows. I have other versions (2003 server or 64-bit XP) I can install
also - I had just grabbed what was easiest late at night.

You can - but if I need to switch the OS, then you probably needn't
worry about it for now.

I had tried that guy with the Windows hw installer wizard and "Have
Disk" method. The wizard says "Cannot install this hardware...the
hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary
software," and when I manually specify the .inf, it tells me "The
specified location does not contain information about your hardware."
Which Win OS is preferred? Sounds like I'll need to change.
Thanks,
Cameron
