Windows Working Group - WinOF 2.1 Status Meeting:               Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Attendees:
                Intel, QLogic, Mellanox, Microsoft

WinOF 2.1 RC2 to be released today.
There will be an RC3 (1 -2 weeks out) DAPL rdma_cm issues.

Mellanox working on IPoIB UD NDIS6 intended for WHQL point release WinOF 2.1.1.
        Bug fixes will be added to Trunk and branch; Stan notified(what/why) when they go into WOF2-1 branch.

Stan doing QA for this release along with Mellanox running automated (regression) testing as well.
WinOF 2.1 QA testing status (RC1):
        Basic (minimal requirements) - Passed
                Install - IPoIB(large file transfer & compare) -- Uninstall

        Advanced testing - in progress
          Intel MPI Benchmarks Duration (>24 Hour) Tests
                DAPL IBAL provider - passed
                DAPL Socket-CM - failed
                DAPL RDMA-CM - failed.
          Enable/Disable (WHQL) Tests for HCA - passed.
          SRP Large file transfer - not started

WinOF 2.2 Plans & Content discussion
        Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 out by end of year.
                Also HPC v3 will follow Server 2008 R2
        Would like to release WinOF 2.2 close to these Microsoft releases.
        So far, no problems seen with either release but no real QA performed.
                HPC matches to Server 2008
                HPC R2 will run on Server 2008 R2 (Win 7)
        NetworkDirect default provider will switch from IBAL to winverbs.


IBAL user-mode not going away.  Use more and more WinVerbs over time. IBAL interfaces remain, IF implementation becomes wrapper to call winverbs or winmad.

        Question:  WinVerbs Kernel Interface availability?

Oracle RDS requires kernel mode
