Windows Working Group - WinOF 2.1 Status Meeting: Tuesday, June 09, 2009
Attendees:
Intel, QLogic, Mellanox, Voltaire, Lamprey Networks
Rupert Lamprey - WinOF used in interop testing. 8 Node cluster w/head node.
Beta event. Used Linux SM at times (for heavy duty testing)
Would like 1st official event soon.
Started w/OFED test suite, Fabric Init, IPoIB, SRP, Intel MPI, uDAPL
Trying to determine which tests will be mandatory.
Can begin to move 10+ additional tests over to WinOF
Want to make list as comprehensive as Linux tests.
Could also add Microsoft MPI in future event
Interop Debug event
Vendors allowed to change firmware etc. if there are testing issues
This is what was held in May
Rupert offered to send links to test plan as well as potential mandatory tests for next event.
IPoIB NDIS 6.0 status
Finished WHQL Submissions (using NDIS 5.1)
Several bug fixes added due to Mellanox customer requests
Delayed work on NDIS 6 work.
Encountering some issue with NDIS 6 port
Working with only UD mode for WinOF 2.1 release.
IPoIB (NDIS 5.1) for XP and Server 2003
IPoIB (NDIS 6.0) for Vista and Server 2008/HPC (NDIS 6.0 is a WHQL requirement)
Mellanox will check in the current code so Stan can work on installation issues
Functionality freeze (Originally targeted for today)
Move data out 2 weeks (until next meeting) to see if we have met requirements for freeze.
Jun 23rd is the next target date for functionality freeze
WinVerbs etc.
Investigating whether asynchronous calls provide any benefits? Especially in Connection Management
Code in trunk is usable and can be frozen at any time.
WinMad
Completed sync with OFED.
One patch sent back to OFED
WinVerbs/WinMad/DAPL Functionality could be frozen today if requested.
NetworkDirect over WinVerbs?
Won't be in WinOF 2.1
Only partially written
Not run or tested yet.
Kernel WinVerbs?
No API created yet.
Q3 or Q4 work item
WinOF 2.2 item
Original request came from Mellanox
Have provided feedback and explanation
Transitioning from IBAL?
To shim above WinVerbs
User-space library that provides IBAL interfaces
Allow better maintainability and improvements
Currently just an idea. No code in development
2010 timeframe ?
Would move this in front of Kernel WinVerbs.
Other Issues:
QLogic Driver will not make WinOF 2.1 schedule but will integrate into later release.
