Linux drivers can support the local changing of the SM NodeDescription
attribute which is what is used in the absence of a node name map to
supply this information. I'm presuming the latter is not the case.

As a related side note, changing the NodeDescription is supposed to
also trigger a trap 144 for other local changes (so the SM can detect
this change as well).
