Be aware that you may be limited by PCIe bandwidth, so connecting both ports may not deliver a significant improvement in b/w performance.

Subject: [Users] How to make the best use of a dual port HCA
I'm just getting starting with setting up an infiniband network. I have several dual port DDR cards and am wondering what is the best way to make use of them. If I connect both ports on each card to the switch will I automatically get improved bandwidth or does anything need to get configured?
What is the best way to configure IPoIB in this configuration? I've seen mention of using bonding, is this worthwhile?
I've not yet been able to find a good guide that mentions dual port cards.
Thanks!
