Good, you should be able to compare the IRQ assigned under kernel 2.4
with the IRQ you're getting now.  (It might be worth trying the
Voltaire stack with your 2.6.8.1 kernel to see if it has the same IRQ
problem)

It's not an mthca option.  In the main kernel config, it's under
something like "bus options".
