Loading the firmware prior to inserting the module is indeed
necessary; that got me past the oops on loading iw_c2.

Next, bringing up the ethernet device (eth2, not iw2) on my NICs
caused complaints:
    c2: <6>c2: eth2: enabling interface
c2: <3>c2: c2_reset: failed to quiesce the hardware!
    c2: Current RX: 0

But flashing the new hardware image fixed that. I used the
one from the kit Steve mentioned above, not the apparently older
one in the 1.2u1 driver.

There are a couple of warnings in yanking out some modules
needed by rdma_ucm. This on the console:

    am30# rmmod ib_mad
    ib_agent: Port 1 not found
    ib_mad: Couldn't close amso0 port 1 for agents
    ib_mad: Port 1 not found
    ib_mad: Couldn't close amso0 port 1

And pulling out iw_c2 takes a looong time:

    am30# time rmmod iw_c2
    c2: drivers/infiniband/hw/amso1100/c2_provider.c:c2_unregister_device:862
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:09:08.0 disabled
    0.000 user 0.008 sys 60.085 real

But nothing oopses. I'll see if I can get verbs to work next.
Thanks,
