In order to test a specific patch all one should do is open the tarball
of openib-1.0.tgz, and there is a patches directory there.

If the patch is a bug fix put it under: openib-1.0/patches/fixes/

If the patch is a backport patch put it under the version directory
(openib-1.0/patches/<version>) that this patch should be applied on.
Version is one of: 2.6.11, 2.6.12, 2.6.13_suse10_0_u, 2.6.15, 2.6.17,
2.6.9_U3, fixes, 2.6.11_FC4, 2.6.13, 2.6.14, 2.6.16, 2.6.9.

Then close the tarball and install the package.

Regarding building the package - see attached mail that Vlad sent on
27-April explaining all you requested.

Tziporet - can you publish the procedure by which source is pulled from
git and svn, and turned into a coherent source tree? This will make the
whole patch process much easier, and reduce the number of turnarounds on
patches.

Thanks, Betsy
