It works for me with 4.12.14-23-default kernel as well 
(OFED-4.17-20180815-1126).
Maybe you used some old OFED version. Please try the latest one.
If it still fails check that the kernel headers are authentic:

# rpm -qa | grep kernel
# rpm -qa | grep kernel | xargs rpm -q --verify
