There is no "official" way. Either you can use the support already
included in the kernel or use the latest and greatest (from the OpenIB
svn tree). IPoIB is pretty stable. Some of the other ULPs are undergoing
more change so that might influence your choice.
In terms of building OpenIB modules, you will need to go into the kernel
config, under device drivers, and configure the InfiniBand things you
want for m (module). Mellanox HCA and IPoIB sound like they will be
sufficient for what you are doing.
