Having them in the same database makes life easier for those
that need to manage releases or those than just want to get
the latest version of all the code. 

Having them packaged in the same release makes life easier
for those that want to install and use openib. I have put together
just 2 RPMs (one kernel-mode) and (one user-mode) for my 
internal customers and they still seem to have problems getting
things installed and I have to spend time helping them along.

Having various components separated into independent releases
makes it a lot harder for people to know what version works with what,
and I am sure they will get a mismatch and then call me to
help them debug it when it does not work.
