Dear OFA members,
You may be aware of recent action by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) that restricts parties that are subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EARs) from disclosing or otherwise providing certain technology to Huawei and its affiliates. As a U.S.-based entity, the OFA itself is subject to these regulations, as are many of our member companies.
Huawei is an Promoter Member organization in the OFA, and we deeply value their engagement. However, as a temporary measure, while we and our members assess how best to comply with the DoC order, we are suspending Huawei's active participation.
Effective immediately and until further notice, participants from Huawei and its subsidiaries are suspended from access to all private OFA online resources and from participation in non-public OFA conference calls and meetings.
To be clear, Huawei is still an OFA member, but their membership access and privileges have been temporarily suspended. As of now they have no access to any OFA confidential materials including meeting minutes and recordings.
We hope that this matter can be quickly clarified and resolved. We will provide updates as soon as practicable.
Please contact me with any questions,
Paul Grun
