I do think that this one is better. I say ship it.

Good input Russ – I changed it a bit. Any comments before I send it off in the next 40 minutes? I’m happy to shorten it more if you can suggest a pitier description.
Phil.
The title of the demo is “Manage multiple fabrics with OFA Sunfish”. The demo will be at the Open Standards pavilion at SC24.
A longer title than would fit in 40-characters is: “Sunfish – An Open Ecosystem to Define a Composable Disaggregated Systems Management Framework demonstrating the management of scale-out storage and fabric attached memory”
Project description: The OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA) is developing Sunfish, a vendor-agnostic Composable Disaggregated Infrastructure (CDI) management framework to augment compute-nodes with additional disaggregated components. Sunfish enables clients to aggregate and bind resources which can potentially increase runtime performance, and improve energy efficiency and resource utilization for large-scale computing systems by providing granular control of network connected pooled resources.
Note that there will be a companion BoF at the SC24 event (https://sc24.conference-program.com/presentation/?id=bof176&sess=sess645<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/sc24.conference-program.com/presentation/?id=bof176&sess=sess645__;!!NpxR!go4MLOyPL9ToL4v0_ONtD5dsegXE1DniT8s129gS6XLPqiFA1wmdT0WLV82EosFu4aTOk7xxOk-rjf5Szlwb$>). This BoF is an update on the status of Sunfish and an invitation to new members to join with us to further develop Sunfish. Speakers will pose questions directing the focus of Sunfish development towards problems and features that matter to the audience.

I can live with this for sure.
We might want to change the first sentence of the Sunfish description:
“Sunfish Project description: A hardware management service that provides dynamic application resource matching for Composable Disaggregated Infrastructure (CDI) can potentially increase runtime performance, energy efficiency, and improve resource utilization for large-scale computing systems by providing granular control of network connected pooled resources.”
It is a bit too long, and the phrase “hardware management service that provides dynamic application resource matching for Composable Disaggregated Infrastructure…” implies Sunfish does this resource matching.
Sunfish enables clients to aggregate and bind resources; it does not do any choosing or ‘matching’ of resources. At most we will have some reference Resource Manager clients that offer basic utilities needed by most client composition tools.
But if you don’t have time to break that one sentence into two more accurate ones, we won’t get boo’ed off the stage over it 😊

Great, thank you both. Unless there is objection I will get back to them with:
The title of the demo is “Manage multiple fabrics with OFA Sunfish”.
The demo will be at the Open Standards pavilion at SC24.
A longer title than would fit in 40-characters is: Sunfish – An Open Ecosystem to Define a Composable Disaggregated Systems Management Framework demonstrating the management of scale-out storage and fabric attached memory”

40 characters is not much of a description 😊

At SC there is going to be an “Innovation Pass” to guide people to some of the booths – if we can provide ‘no more than a 40-character demo title and description. An additional link for additional information related to this demo such as a piece of collateral or a video, would also be helpful’ we can be included in the Innovation Pass with which will hopefully guide people to the OFA Sunfish demo at the Open Ecosystem booth.
Russ, if you can kick us off with a few words we can hone this via email and get this sent off – the deadline is Monday 10/07 – so any time that can be spent on this will definitely help our foot-traffic.
Thanks!
Phil.
