[Ofmfwg] Sunfish meeting notes for April 25, 2025

  1.  Event sync between Flux and Sunfish
     *   Mike is still working on this, leveraging the flow defined in the attached file.
  2.  Sunfish CDI resources pushed to Flux active queue
     *   Mike is still working on this. Having trouble finding the Flux config file for data locality.
  3.  Demonstration of Flux/Sunfish NVMeoF
     *   Demo not ready yet. We are close and should have it ready for the event in Orlando.
  4.  Sunfish code----releases
     *   Open source
     *   LLNL Git site

                                                              i.      90% of the code will be open source and the other 10% will be on LLNL Git site. The code that will not be open source are related to internal things.

                                                             ii.      The open-source portion will be in separate repository on the OFA GitHub. This new repository will contain the Flux utilities.

  1.  Burst buffer code---release
     *   LLNL for BeeOND code---will need to be released by Sandia to LLNL for LLNL Git site

                                                              i.      Flux Prolog/Epilog front-end for BeeOND

                                                             ii.      Mike is working on the front-end code for this, which will also be leveraged for the burst buffer. This code is not released yet.

     *   Future LLNL and Whamcloud code releases for Lustre-on-Demand using the upstream RAM disk back-end

                                                              i.      This is on Mike's todo list and can optionally be used for burst buffer.

  1.  Documentation
     *   Russ walked through the changes he made for Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, including the Sunfish agent handshake diagram. The handshake diagram has more details that covers both single agent and multiple agent scenarios. These changes will be added to GitHub repository.
     *   The plan is to publish a new version next week.
  2.  Event updates
     *   Next week is the SNIA SDC Denver event, along with UEC and others. Tuesday evening, Phil will discuss about Sunfish collaboration. On Wednesday, there will be a Sunfish BOF.
