WSD is only supported on server versions of Windows, so XP is out, no
matter what the CPU architecture. The alternative for socket
acceleration would be a true layered service provider similar to what
Mellanox developed for SDP. IPoIB will work too, but performance will
be mediocre.

Sorry an important detail indeed.
x86 XP Pro SP2 + latest updates.
The real points are:
1) Is anybody actually using openib-windows 614 on XP along with
WSD?
2) What's the XP(x86) alternative?
thanks,
stan.

What OS version are you trying to use. The platform SDK docs say
RegDeleteKeyEx is only available on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
and Windows Server 2003 SP1. I assume later OS versions also work.

An execution of 'installsp.exe -l' generates the following notifier
Thoughts?
The file ADVAPI32.dll is present in %SystemRoot%\System32
