Goodpeople,

 

Before recommending use of the WinOF_1-1_x64.msi installer to a
customer, I tried it on a Windows Server 2003 test system. This system
does not have an HCA installed. I just wanted to see if the installer
worked.

 

Do I need an HCA for this installer to run?

 

The error message was: HCA Install failed - mthca.inf PCI\WEN_15B3&DEV_*

 

At the WinOF 1.1 juncture, software only installs are not yet supported
as devcon.exe is the install tool.

In the Q3'08 timeframe when WinOF 2.0 arrives supporting Windows Server
2008 & Vista, software only installs will be supported via dpinst.exe.
