Thu Apr 16 17:39:47 PDT 2009
Attending: Mellanox (Ishai, Tzachi) Qlogic (John) Microsoft (Fab) Intel (Sean, Stan)
QLogic has downsized WinOF resources:
Will miss quality input from Alex Estrin & Eleanor Witiak.
QLogic has committed to a WinOF driver for upcoming QL HCA.
QLogic still committed to making QA resources available for WinOF 2.1.
IPoIB CM work will be transitioned to Mellanox.
WinOF 2.1 will be WHQL'ed prior to being released.
WinOF 2.1 functionality freeze will occur when WHQL process starts; target is mid-May.
WinOF 2.1 will branch late in WHQL process; ETA for branch @ 90% WHQL complete.
WHQL process time to complete is order 4-5 weeks.
Run/pass WHQL tests.
MS validates results plus MS runs own tests.
MS WHQL results reviewed.
WHQL results submitted to MS for final acceptance.
WinOF 2.1 release targeted for July'09
Next WWG meeting targeted for Tuesday May 12th - bridge info to follow.
WinVerbs status - rmda_cm issues being worked, otherwise in good shape.
WinMad status - need to decide on when to snapshot OFED mad/umad development.
OpenSM is a floating project. Sean's Winverbs/libOFED will greatly reduce amount of work in porting OFED opensm, although it's still a large project and needs an owner.
Common/OFED-based DAPL code is looking good. IBAL provider runs multiple days of 19 node cluster testing. Socket CM provider running reliably between Linux and Windows; dapltest bugs repaired. Rdma_provider under test.
Sonoma BOF meeting:
WHQL prior to WinOF release is highly desirable.
IPoIB bonding and failover highly desirable. Under consideration, not in 2009 plans so far.
Network Direct (ND) over winverbs:
Needs additional winverbs support. Sean and Fab collaborating on branch project.
Possible inclusion in WinOF 2.1, otherwise a 2.2 feature.
ND sources in svn, now building for all except IA64. netipoib.inx patches will be
submitted to exclude IA64 ND support as IPoIB auto-installs ND provider + installer.
Mellanox would like to see winverbs kernel APIs developed - Sean is investigating.
That's a wrap....EOM
Stan.
