Hello,
  Customer orientation is the driving force here.

A customer may or may not have easily obtainable immediate access to a previous opensm version.
Why not anticipate the unlikely but possible situation (pre-paid insurance if you will) and provide an immediate solution?

Holding a cursor/mouse-point over the opensm.exe file will reveal it's OpenSM version, so there is no confusion. Version display functionality is in the 3.3.3 opensm version and will be retro-fitted to current opensm.

On a slightly different vector, would you be willing to test drive the new opensm on your large in-house cluster?
