Commits below address real issues and should not be reverted. Also, 
these commits are relevant for 4.17 kernel only and do not change 
anything for other kernels as CONFIG_COMPAT_RDMA is set for all kernels 
except 4.17.
So, your backports should work with these commits present.
Start with clean build environment if you still have issues.
