[nvmewin] Win7 x86 NVMe compiled driver is old version

Mike is correct. Win 7 does not support TRIM natively. Any IHV wanting to support TRIM on Win 7 would have to implement a method (i.e. filter driver) to handle sending TRIM requests. Win 8 and later natively supports TRIM.

Thanks,
Ray

In the Windows 7 storage stack, there is no UNMAP CDB sent down from the class driver. That's only in Windows 8 and above.

Hi, the version of the compiled NVMe driver for Win7 x86 is actually
v1.3.0 and not v1.4.0.
It for example seems to lack TRIM support.
