Jason,
You are correct about a typical ED position.
The OFA is slightly different - in that many ED job descriptions include managing staff, of which we have none at this time.
It seems appropriate to tailor the job to what we need and - in this case - to what Jim’s skills are.
If necessary, we could put an end date on the contract.
That would allow us to revisit the job description when we ultimately redefine our mission.
As you say, the new mission will drive and define what an ED would be doing and what a reasonable compensation rate is.
